Hello, I’m trying to figure out how to set up a custom item for Broforce. This is a p2p game, I know, but I can see that other player hosted games are also supported and work very well for us (Warframe, Street Fighter V). Full VPN is absolutely not an option for me, it must be a custom item or something similar.
I’m in Taiwan, my friends are in Hawaii and our connection goes from Taiwan to California, and then back to Hawaii. There is no direct route possible so when I VPN to an LA server, it makes it MUCH better. Since this works with other p2p games, it definitely must be possible, but I just can’t figure out how to grab the game’s traffic only and not use full VPN for it.
(We regularly play a few p2p games as well as Skullgirls, so if I can figure this out I’ll be able to help all of them set it up and they will all buy Mudfish accounts as well)
Thanks.
I’m thinking you already checked FAQ - P2P (Peer To Peer) protocol link. But I’m not sure that you tried to use Proxifier for this purpose.
Regarding to create a custom item, please check Create Custom Item link too. But if you know your friend’s public IPs, you can add it in CIDR format.
Hmm, SFV definitely seems to be working, VPN is making a big difference for our matches.
Is there any way I could inspect the properties of the SFV item to see if there isn’t someway I could reverse engineer a solution for a different p2p game?
I haven’t tested warframe myself, I don’t play it anymore, just saw it on the list.
I do appreciate how complicated p2p is with this kind of technology, and thanks for your time.
