Hello! Quick question. I play FFXIV, but have noticed that if I set the RTT to UDP it doesn’t update often on the dashboard. However, if I set it to TCP it updates perfectly. Although the connection protocol is UDP (Which I’m told is better for FFXIV, though not entirely sure). The RTT is set to TCP. Would this hurt my connection at all? Should I put the RTT back to UDP? I’m just curious as I’m trying to optimize my connection.

Would this hurt my connection at all?

It doesn’t hurt anything. RTT Checking Method is to calculate the RTT between your desktop and mudfish nodes so it doesn’t affect to the game connection at all.

That’s good to know! Does the connection protocol to the servers make much of a difference? Or is that just to make things easier to configure on routers and such? I recall reading it’s best to use UDP.

For most of cases, it’s not but it make some difference when the network is under congestion. Or sometimes it’s helpful to bypass the network firewall.

Okay thanks! That’s good to know for the future if I need to make some adjustments depending on location. You guys are awesome
