I already tried almost every combination of servers on europe to south america, that supposedly should use the ellalink cable to low latency. But all my connections are around 230ms to 400ms.
Umm… Let me try to find a server provider with ellalink cable. Thank you for your feedback.
At this moment, it looks like there’s no good server between EU and BZ…
I was under the impression that yes, Mudfish does use EllaLink, but you have to connect to a DE node (the DE LeaseWeb, Linode, Vultr, GHOSTnet, Telepath, Digital Ocean and IdealHosting nodes usually give good results; usually I connect through one of the LeaseWeb nodes but they do choke from time to time). I’m in Uruguay and connecting through those nodes gives me 160-170ms for FFXIV’s EU servers (which are physically in Germany).
My connection speed to EU went down from around 230ms in 2021 to 160-170ms; I cannot think of another explanation for the change besides EllaLink. It’s a bit counterintuitive that I have to connect to a DE node rather than Buenos Aires or San Paolo, but this has been how it’s worked for me for the last 4 years. With NA servers too similar things happen, but rather than 10+ good nodes I only have 2-3 (the LA Google nodes; anything else performs worse than my connection to EU).
