Dota 2 Server Selection

Hi,

I am a dota 2 player in South Korea using the South East Asia server.

After a few experiments with server selection, I have noticed a few differences with lag spikes and ping. Here is the summary.

Asia (South Korea) + KR Asia (GNJ IDC) --> 350-400 ping with no packet loss (lag spikes)
Asia (South Korea) + KR Asia (KT1 IDC) --> 350-400 ping with no packet loss (lag spikes)
Asia (Singapore) + Singapore (Clodstra) --> 90-100 ping with 1-5% packet loss (Enormous lag spikes)
Asia (Singapore) + Singapore (Amazon EC2) --> 200-250 ping with no packet loss (minor lag spikes)
Full VPN Service Asia (South Korea) + KR Asia (GNJ IDC) --> 1000 ping with no packet loss (Enormous lag spikes)

I have purchased credits on my account and I do not mind using them to good use as long as I can manage about 100 ping with ZERO lag spikes. So here is my question. If possible, could you please provide me with the optimal settings to achieve what I stated above? Singapore Amazon EC2 server seems to work out amazingly but I wish I could reduce the ping down to about a 100.

Thanks

Ooops. Sorry for my belated response. Did you try for RTT to check with en.loxch.com/rttmap/ tool? I think it’d useful to find a best path from you to the game server via Mudfish VPN servers. The internet line between KR KT1 IDC and SG Amazon EC2 is good with very few spike and loss but RTT 2 times higher that it looks they are intentionally added a virtual routing hop between routers to forcibly increase the RTT.

In here to archive your goal, the most important is the internet line; it’s out of my scope. I couldn’t handle it. With Mudfish Cloud VPN, there are two approaches to bypass (redirect) the routing path:

  • Selecting a Mudfish VPN using Wizard menu. Depending on the internet line you’d subscribed and the line between Mudfish VPN server and game server, the result could be vary.
  • Uses ADN (Application Delivery Network) mode. With it, the packet could be passed into multiple Mudfish VPN servers. E.g. Your desktop → KR KT1 IDC → HK AsiaData → SG Amazon EC2 → Game server. It’s a kind of concepts called Managed Route.

Please check the best path for you using above tool and let me know. I could help you set up a test environment if you’d like to use.
