Error: MUDEC_00192

I have Mac OSX 10.13, and the Mudfish version 4.3.10.

I get the MUDEC_00192 error. The documentation says:

"## MUDEC_00192

Failed to open ‘/dev/tap7’: <err_string>

Depending on code, the fundamental reason could be different. Please check the following lists.

  • Please use latest Mudfish version available at Download - MUDFISH: Acceleration As a Service link. No longer tuntap driver is used for Mac OS X.
  • Sometimes this issue is caused by that already mudfish process is running. Please check ‘mudfish’ process is running and kill it."

I am unclear on how to proceed. When I downloaded the latest version, it told me that it needs OSX 10.15 (Catalina). My system is technically too old to run Catalina. I could force the update with a third party patch, but the game I want to play (WoW 3.3.5) is 32bit, and Catalina will not run 32bit apps.

Is there any way to make this version, or any other version of Mudfish, work?

Thank you.

@ARobbins1982 Ooops… It seems you’re trying to run very old mudfish client. Did you make sure that you installed tuntap driver which found at https://tuntaposx.sourceforge.net/ link?

This version was one Mudfish old client used to open tap driver.

Thank you for the reply, no I did not install that, thank you, I will try with that. Is there a newer version of Mudfish that is compatible with 10.13?

After installing tuntap I no longer get MUDEC_00192, now I have other problems that prevent connection.

  1. It tells me:

[3.135537] [CRIT] Assert (os->fd != -1) failed at ODR_socket (./mud/os/macosx/syscalls.c:404) with 0

  1. Before that, it lists off a bunch about UDP connections, for example:

(like 100 of those)

  1. I thought maybe UDP was the reason for the error, and wanted to change to TCP, since I think WoW is TCP-based anyway.

I tried to go to Setup->Program, but when I do, I get:

“502 Bad Gateway.”

I got it working by updating to 5.0.9

Cool! I hope now everything goes well with mudfish. Please let me know if there are any other problems.
