I am an active Counter-Strike 2 player on the Faceit platform (Turkey region). Currently, the only available Turkish node on Mudfish is in “Bursa”. Since all Faceit CS2 servers for Turkey are physically hosted in Istanbul (specifically Mars Datacenter), routing traffic through Bursa creates an unnecessary detour and increases latency for Turkish players.
Could you please consider adding a new Node in Istanbul, Turkey? Ideally, a node with good peering to Mars Datacenter would completely solve our routing issues.
Additionally, could you update the “Counter-Strike 2” item routing table to explicitly include the Faceit Istanbul IP range? Target Server IP: 207.211.215.66 (Subnet: 207.211.215.0/24)
Currently, because there is no dedicated Istanbul node and the CS2 item defaults to Germany for Faceit, we cannot optimize our ping for local Turkish servers. Adding an Istanbul node would attract many Faceit players from Turkey who are struggling with ISP routing issues.
Hello! Thank you for providing the IP information.
I have added the “Europe (Istanbul - Faceit)” destination to the Counter-Strike 2 item. Please test it out when you get a chance.
Regarding the new node, I will look for server providers located in or near the Mars Datacenter in Istanbul. If you happen to know of any good server hosting companies operating there, please let me know!
I just tested the new “Europe (Istanbul - Faceit)” destination. It perfectly bypasses the bad BGP routing of my ISP. However, since the only available node in Turkey right now is in Bursa, my traffic physically travels to Bursa first and then goes back to Istanbul. This physical detour adds an extra +10ms, keeping my ping around 29-30ms. (Please see the attached screenshot showing the Bursa node selection and 29ms RTT).
Regarding the new node you are planning to add: Based on the BGP routing and traceroute data, the Faceit servers in Mars Datacenter are hosted under Datacamp Limited (AS60068) (also known as Datapacket / CDN77).
If you can rent a VPS/Node directly from Datacamp in Istanbul, the peering to the Faceit servers would be practically 0 ms. This would completely solve the routing problems for all Turkish players with zero extra latency.
If Datacamp is not an option, other highly reliable Istanbul data centers with great local peering are:
Radore Datacenter
Premier DC
DATACASA
Equinix
Thank you again for caring about the community and your amazing support! I’m looking forward to the new Istanbul node.
Thank you for the detailed information and for testing the new routing! I really appreciate the data center recommendations you provided.
I will take some time to review these server providers, including Datacamp and the others you mentioned, to see if we can set up a new node in Istanbul. I’ll let you know once there is an update.
