Final Fantasy XIV - lots of disconnects since patch 5.1 update (was working swell before)

Hello,

I am in no way tech savvy, but I want to try and solve this issue that’s been frustrating me. Prior to 10/29/2019, Mudfish was working just fine with FFXIV and it was working to solve my frequent 90ks due to packet loss on Square Enix’s server-side.

However, since the new patch on 10/29/2019, I have been getting 90k disconnects again. Disconnecting and reconnecting Mudfish seems to help for a while before it drops again (recently, the graph thing tells me it’s packet loss again). I have updated Mudfish to the newest version, and I have tried switching nodes (though I admittedly don’t understand the FAQ about how to pick the best one - I have generally been picking ones with a ‘low score’). Also, for whatever reason (maybe because of an influx of returning/new players due to the patch), I’ve been burning more data since the patch as well.

I’m not sure if I should be trying to get nodes farther away from me? I live in California and am trying to connect to the Crystal data server.

Any help to figure out why these changes are happening (and how to fix the disconnects) would be appreciated. Thank you.

Please check your ISP first. When I checked RTT information recorded in Mudfish, it seems RTT stddev values to most of the mudfish nodes are quite unstable. It means your ISP has a network issue. For details please check http://ko.loxch.com/userrtt/?uid=443893 link.

If you want to use the previous version of mudfish, it’s available at http://mudfish.net/releases/ link but I don’t think there’s many changes in core process of mudfish.
