How to configure for Valorant destination northern California?

I’m trying to configure Mudfish to play with my friends in Northern California, but the closest destination server is in Southern California and choosing that destination actually lowers my ping… Does anyone know how I can configure Mudfish to improve my ping in Northern California servers?

Please send me some game packets using Packet Capture with Mudfish link while playing the game with Full VPN mode.

When I checked your question correctly, it seems Valorant game item of mudfish missed the game server location. To update the game item of mudfish, I need some game packets to analyze.

Hi, here’s the packet dump.

@lotionocean Thank you for your packet dump. When I checked the packet dump, I can see 192.207.0.1 is the game server IP. However if I know correctly, this IP is at US West (LA).

Do you know where Northern California servers locate?

I’m not sure, but I think it’s in San Jose. Let me try to force connect to it and run another dump.

No problem.

here’s the new packet dump. i specifically connected to the us west north server

When I checked your latest packet dump, it still points 192.207.0.1 so I think it’s at US West (LA).

However to verify whether it’s really at US West (LA), please follow the below steps and show me the result:

  1. Turn off mudfish.
  2. Please check http://lexisnexis.custhelp.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/1088078/~/running-a-traceroute link.
  3. And run against to 192.207.0.1

I think this result shows where your packets go.

C:\Users\tampw>tracert 192.207 .0.1

does this help?

Definitely yes it’s helpful. As you can see, the packet goes to 12.245.64.62 IP at hop 7.

When I checked the location of 12.245.64.62 IP, it points it’s at US West (LA). So in my conclusion, when you get the game at 192.207.0.1 (your game server), you’re playing at US West (LA) instead of US West (San Jose).

I see! I’ll set my mudfish to the LA server then. do you have a specific node you would recommend?

No perfect answer for this question because it’s very vary depending on which ISP you’re using or how is the international cable condition good. Please check FAQ - Nodes document first and test with various combinations
