I'm working on getting a better ping while playing Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

The datacenters are on the West Coast and I am located in Central Iowa however I notice that the Mudfish nodes connects me via US West (San Jose - ColoCrossing 1) → US West (San Jose - Vultr 4).

Would it not be better to connect me via a US Central node → US West Node? Why is it taking me to one US West Node to hop to another US West Node in the same city?

  • Please leave what you want to play alone then close other programs.
  • Picking a node that shows near flat graph may considered more consistency.
  • In general, network congestion has getting increased on night to early morning.
