For several days all usual Japanese nodes have been either missing or, in the case of the remaining ‘Tokyo - Google’ and ‘Osaka - Sakuranet’ nodes, giving 100ms higher than usual to EU-Germany servers–340ms rather than 220-230ms. The “available” nodes also often don’t actually connect. Instead, they go straight to packet loss and return error messages.
The result of this is that using Mudfish results in higher latency than not using the service, making it unuseable in the country. There have occasionally been missing nodes before, but not entire groups (the Aliyun nodes are gone completely) and it has never created blanket increases across all nodes in the country. There’s a problem of some sort.
