Muddog extremely slow

Today I found your new software named Muddog. I’m very interested and tried it out. I can confirm that Muddog is working as expected since my public IP was changed to the destination country. However, I found the speed extremely slow and not really useable. Are you able to fix it and what kinds of use cases do you expect us to use Muddog for?

Also another issue is if I select China, I always get a Korean IP instead of Chinese. Can you please fix that as well?

Thanks!

@Crericper Thank you for this question! I released muddog program at 15-Aug-2022 and frankly your question is first muddog question.

As you expected, muddog is completely free program because it’s based on P2P technology. It means the server you’re connecting isn’t maintained from Mudfish Networks. If you feel it’s slow, it means the peer’s network is poor.

If you want to change the peer, please disconnect and reconnect. If no. of peers are enough, muddog will connect to another peer.

It seems this issue is from lack of information in GeoIP library. I’ll check.

I appreciate for your help! However, the question still remains:

From my experience, every Muddog connection I’ve made are all quite slow. I suspect this is a Muddog software problem since my uTorrent/BitTorrent speeds are both quite fast. You might want to dive inside to see what the bottleneck is, so the speed would become at least useable. Currently, webpages loads very slow and it’s hardly possible to stream any video.

Overall, I’m looking forward on the future of this software. I believe it has huge potential to make the Internet open and free!

@Crericper Thank you for your feedback. I’ll try to reproduce this issue on my box and will try to fix if I found something.
