Mudfish is comsuming a lot of data for FFXIV

Mudfish consumed like 20$ of data for the past month instead of the usual 1-2$ per month.

I only use mudfish for 1 item only and it’s ffxiv. i’ve been using mudfish for the game like 3-4+ years already.

And no , i didn’t touch any setting at all. i’m also not using full VPN mode.

Did you perhaps forget to disable Mudfish when you downloaded patch 7.16? I’m not sure how much it would cost on the pay-as-you-go plan (I’m on subscription because I wanted to use multipath, and since then I’ve had zero credits-related headaches) and if the patch files would account for your $20 but I noticed that if I forget to disable Mudfish when updating the game, the patch download goes through Mudfish (which floods my dashboard with warnings about speed cap and slows the download to a crawl).

nope its everyday even without patch, its still consuming like 10+gbs of traffic for 2-3 hours of gameplay , which is insane because in the past few years its just few hundreds mbs for whole day.

@karlongkar Please visit ‘Account → Edit profile’ menu to enable the Connection Log feature to see where your traffics were used. You can find it at https://mudfish.net/admin/user/modify link.

At this moment I don’t know why because as default we’re not doing any kind of logging to trace your traffics for privacy protection. So after enabling it, you can see connection logs at ‘Status → Access Log’.

For your convenience, I’d reset your mudfish credits a little bit.

After checking for awhile , it seems to be problem with web traffic eventho i set up > program > exception rule > exclude web traffic.

that setting doesn’t seem to work at all. so i use WFP then it seems to be okay now.
Edit : now it doesn’t seem to work with ffxiv at all…
Edit 2 : now i have to get into the game first > then open mudfish. its a bit annoying work around.

Are you meaning that enabling “Exclude web traffic” makes this problem? If then, it seems that the game client uses some web traffics for the authentication or something…

Maybe , Maybe not. but it’s true that WFP mode and Exclude web traffic doesn’t work with FFXIV.

now i can’t open website like twitch while connecting to mudfish anymore.

@karlongkar If you can’t use WFP Item mode but you want to watch twitch, only a way you can do with Mudfish is “Custom Item”.

Here’s the game item information in JSON format for FFXIV game item of Mudfish:

Based on this information, you might need to check Create Custom Item and optimize the game item for your needs.
