I live in Switzerland and I’ve been trying to use Mudfish to lower my ping when playing Minecraft on the Hypixel server (I’m located in Europe, and Hypixel is in the US). Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any improvements at all, my ping stays around 125–140 ms no matter what I try.
Here’s what I’ve tested:
Full VPN mode
FastConnect mode
WFP item mode
Various nodes (including the recommended ones and US East - Chicago Linode, as shown in the screenshot)
I also experimented with automatic and manually selected nodes, but none of the configurations had any noticeable effect.
Interestingly, when I connect or disconnect Mudfish, Hypixel doesn’t kick me out like it does when using ExitLag. This makes me suspect that Mudfish might not be properly routing the traffic, or something is not set up correctly.
For comparison, the ExitLag free trial gave me about a 10% ping reduction, so I know there is room for improvement.
Any advice or guidance would be appreciated! Maybe there are specific nodes, settings, or tricks that work better with Hypixel?
Yes, it was the very same. I could see the traffic of the applications on the dashboard, but thats it.
Let me take a look at it after work, I’ll provide you everything you require.
Thank you!
thought I’d offer my two cents on this: i live in Singapore and my Hypixel ping stays around 220 without mudfish and dropped to about 195 with. the option with the best ping for me was Advanced Mode with My Computer → JP ASIA (Tokyo HostHatch*) → US EAST (Chicago *) → Hypixel. I recommend enabling Advanced Mode support for path RTT calculation because it usually gives quite a decent ping boost. if you want to test Hypixel ping from the command line, ping the server mt.mc.production.hypixel.io. this is the actual server link (you can tell by the massive ping difference).
