This is what happens on my linux machine, but when I use my Windows machine with the same settings everything works.

Which linux distribution are you using? Please try to use -I
option because sometimes DHCP client of linux causes this issue. For details, please check MUDEC_00045 link. I think you can try to run mudfish launcher as follows:
/opt/mudfish/5.4.6/bin/mudrun -I
