The solution given here solves the internet issue, but my ping to FFXIV elemental data center is still bad (+200ms). Does only FastConnect + FullVPN allow for faster ping? I get under 100ms with that but I’d like to be able to just use FastConnect.
As you might know, Manjaro isn’t one supported by mudfish yet. When I checked your routing table, it seems it still adds wrong 0.0.0.0 (default gateway) IP.
Did you try to delete the default gateway of tap0 and check that the internet becomes back first?
Are you using WI-FI or LAN cable to connect the internet? Not sure that your issue is from your intenet environment for this issue. Please check your ISP first. When I checked RTT information recorded in Mudfish, it seems RTT stddev values to most of the mudfish nodes are quite unstable. It means your ISP has a network issue or your local network isn’t stable. For details please check http://ko.loxch.com/userrtt/?uid=909397 link.
I use a LAN cable but connected via Google Wifi point. On another computer using Windows and a direct LAN cable from the router, Fast Connect will work by itself with the ping improving. Have not used direct LAN cable on my manjaro setup since it’s too far to connect.
Can I ask why it seems to work fine when full vpn is on but disables internet when just using fast connect?
Only guessing, and this has been said in an older post, manjaro is probably missing a key mudfish library ? Works fine for me in win10, but when I switch to manjaro and delete the default gateway as described there is no improvement in latency. Comparing netstat in windows 10 and manjaro; few if any of the connections esablished via the interface are replicated in manjaro, and the other programs mudfish and mudflow aren’t running in htop.
I just meant testing in basic mode, when switching dual-boot Win10 (works fine), to Manjaro (after deleting the default gateway) appears to work but there is no latency reduction? Using Full-VPN mode to test, https://myip.mudfish.net/ reports: “It seems everything works fine. :-)” but there is a definate slowdown and some sites aren’t available. Netsat -rn produces very different results under Full-VPN mode though.
Okay. It means at least the basic functionality is working fine. However if there’s a slowdown or loading issue of some sites, it means it’ll be definitely another issue in my opinion.
