Hi,

I’ve been trying to fix a frustrating issue with my World of Tanks on the Asia server for many months now. I’ve even upgraded my ISP plan, to 400mbps download, and 400mbps upload, and no change.

I have been having the red ping bar incessantly flash in-game when playing WOT, and there are around two, sometimes three hops on both pingplotter, with mudfish turned off, via my ISP, which show around 1-5% packet loss (not much, but i want to eliminate the red ping bar flashing and any packet loss as much as possible), maybe more at different points of the day, but NOT at the very last HOP, the WOT Asia server. I will attach my winMTR Results to this thread.

Using mudfish, either item mode, or full VPN (I’m based in Melbourne, Australia BTW for reference), I have found thus far, Singapore IndoVirtue to be the best nodes to use, and only 1 node setting, which gets rid of all packet loss in both pingplotter, and winMTR when i turn mudfish on and then rescan to the wot asia server. BUT, I STILL! Get the annoying red ping bar flashing in game, even though both winMTR, and Pingplotter show NO packet loss! and i KNOW I’m losing packets as the red flash is incessant, stays on sometimes for the rest of the game, and shots start to miss more, ghost shells, tanks see me before i can react etc, its super frustrating.

The red ping bar in game flashes red, particularly badly when an enemy tank is spotted, but after that it becomes random, and doesn’t stop. I am at a loss at what I could try, to get rid of this once and for all! I know mudfish is the correct tool to use, as every other “exitlag” etc i’ve used, is completely useless and makes my ping worse.

Packet loss in World of Tanks, even small amounts, can absolutely ruin the game. it relies heavily on smooth packets!

I have been trying for months to resolve this, even upgrading my ISP, And router, but no go. it STILL flashes RED, and its INCESSANT!

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi there! This might be a tricky issue to solve. Looking at your WinMTR results, I don’t see any noticeable network problems. Since we don’t know exactly how the game measures packet loss, it’s quite possible the issue is actually happening on the game server’s end.

Could you please send us a packet dump while playing? You can follow this guide: Packet Dump with Mudfish. This will help us analyze the specific game server!
